Well, at this point there is no game to play.Its been suggested that the most radical backers do not actually play the game. They are too busy playing the game in their head... just like Chris Roberts
The most radical backers probably do some playtesting on each patch at most.
Sure, SQ42 might be able to release in late 2020 but the Star Citizen multiplayer? We still lack, dunno...LOADS of gameplay loops for trading, mining, bounty hunting, etc. Not to mention a populated single solar system filled to the brim with NPC ships, NPC characters walking around doing their own stuff.
Even using their system creation tool and having all those things being able to be added at the press of a button when mechanics are done there would be tons of bugs and cleanup to do in all areas so i imagine 2022 at the earliest to get something REALLY functional...And i reserve the right to push that date due to CIG and their skills in management and planning and implementing of features.
