I don't know, it seems to be simmering away nicely IMHO. The community is probably busy making stuff in game more than chatting on forums. In the early days, this forum helped PC become what it is, so there was more discussions and activity. Besides, there's Steam, reddit, youtube, this forum, other places such as Facebook, Twitch and other forums. This is what you want, a distributed community network more than centralized hub. It's better for everyone to spread it around. Don't forget that this forum archives all discussions, many people wouldn't need to post about something if they use search and discover it's been covered multiple times. This is true of seeking help, and suggestions.

You squinted into the bright sun as you walked across the tarmac. The man in the distance walked towards you with an easy gait to his cowboy boots and a broad grin. “Hey, kid!” he said. “Good to see you!” He stroked his mustache. “I can see your mother has been taking good care of you. You look great!” “Hey, Uncle Diz!” you replied. “It’s great to be here. I’m really looking forward to learning about the park biz.” Uncle Dizzy bought some swamp land two years ago, which he renamed, “Dizzy’s Swamp,” and had been working on turning it into a park. The vision was to build hotels, fireworks displays, shops and rides. He invited me down to help him work on it…or so I thought. “Well, kid, there are just three things you need to know. First, it's gotta sound good. I changed the park name to “Dizzy’s Swamp World.” It’s made all the difference. People didn’t want to visit a swamp, but Swamp World – now that’s worth driving for hours to see!” He continued, “Second, the park biz is a hotel biz. I built a bunch of them, but…” he shrugged, “they need some work.”

I played the original zoo tycoon games. 1.. and 2 back in the 90's/early 2000's and really enjoyed them but I don't think Frontier did those. I know they did the last one. but shhhhh we don't talk about that game. :D

I'm experiencing a very severe crashing issue with the game, and its not just messing up the game but also my computer. first some background, I started work on a new park on the frozen biome, the only thing different about it compared to my other parks is that I chose to close it at first and open it once I had some attractions in place. A few attractions later and the park was ready to open. When I opened the park and guests started coming in, many of them and some of the employees started having weird model issues, the best way I can describe it is like parts of them moved across the map creating giant spikes of flesh coming from them. I've heard other games describe this phenomena as "spaghettifying". I alt-tabbed to run a quick google search on the issue, and then my screens graphics freaked out creating weird patterns across it and my computer hard crashed. I force shut down my computer and restarted the game. The save loaded fine and everything was as it was before I opened the park. I opened it again and the guests had the same model issues. I tried to save to a new slot hoping to load from it and fix the issue and my screen got the weird patterns again followed by another hard crash. I shut down and restarted the game again to try and replicate it a third time, but when I launched the game it started severely lagging (1 frame every 2 seconds) on the main menu. I force quit the game and haven't tried to restart it since.

This is not busy compared to when the game was new, and there are certainly much much busier forums for other games, but its not specifically a matter of just having questions, people can enjoy the game and come here to just chat for a multitude of reasons, but unfortunately PlanCo has not caught much steam in terms of community in the passed 12 months, and thats not really a good thing for a game like this which does have a heavy reliance on the community

JWE = a weak zoo game (IMO) I mean even the older zoo games look more developed If I'm going to play a "zoo" game with animals, I want it to be a safari with a track editor exactly like RCT3 and a terrain editor like PlanCo... I want to be able to view my safari from first person and experience the ride myself, just like we do in PlanCo. Making stand-alone zoo games is just so boring I don't get why they waste their time with crap like JWE that is clearly just a cash grab based on a popular name... wasnt that exactly why RCTW failed? these marketing people never learn lol I hope Frontier is looking at JWE as a test before they make a real Planet Safari, and that means not to just rely on cool looking trailers to sell the game. IMO JWE is one of those games that only sells to people with no actual knowledge of what they are buying, hence why a lot of pre-order sales will be disappointed

I'd love to see a new Zoo Tycoon. But it would have to have great management and still have fun running the zoo. Which so far with Planco and JWE. Frontier just can't seem to get right. A Zoo Tycoon with weak management I don't think would hold up well on its sandbox only. THe original Zoo Tycoons were a whole lot of fun. Then there was the console version a few years back from Frontier. not so much.

The vast majority... I supposed you have numbers to support this assumption, right? You'd like the game to cater to your needs, and you say it's the vast majority, but how can you be sure you're not a minority? Forums are not an indicator... I play for the creative aspect of the game, I love playing in sandbox and disable all the management things, just to be able to build a park as I want to build it. And frankly, judging by the workshop, I'm not sure about what you call 'the vast majority'... So, when it caters to your needs, what becomes of those who play for different reasons than yours? Do we have to find another game? And don't compare PC to Minecraft or Lego, it's a completely different thing.

These forums require at least 3 to 5 posts made to be able to bypass the reCaptcha and anti-spam checks. Unfortunately, we have a lot of spam posted on this forum - nearly all of it never sees the light of day (except the moderators seeing it). There's three checks that happens on our forums: 1) Registration Check (is your IP or email blacklisted (StopForumSpam)?) 2) New Thread/Post akismet and recaptcha checks. 3) New Thread/Post regex and hot-word checks. The 3rd one is generally what trips the posts into awaiting moderation land.

It looks like the CAPTCHA requirements went away when my account was green lit. I might have made it worse because I'm the same way with 3rd party cookies as the forums are with new accounts, guilty until proven innocent. But it was pretty crazy, had to CAPTCHA to use search, post, pretty much everything except look at a post. I'm still of the opinion that if goal is to build a vibrant community having to wait hours for posts to clear just pushes people elsewhere.

As far as I can tell you can't combine parts into a building. You might try to copy the items, select and edit the building and paste the parts in. Another thing that might help is you can group select with the ctrl key ( drag or click click click ) and move the group somewhere else for a while, but keep it as part of the building. My guess as to why this seems weird and arbitrary is they probably need a lot of the parts to conform to a single grid to make it easier for auto cornering to work. Paste into grid functionality might be a good thing to request, wouldn't require a huge level of effort. For me the biggest thing that gets in my way is all the weird modes advanced move gets into and needing to confirm the move in some cases and not in others. And yet others a confirm duplicates the selection. You really don't need a confirmation and an undo. And duplicate should be a key combo and drag, not some weird modal thing.

But there is proof that the game is being updated. Mark a dev mentioned that they have a higher build than us in the bugs section, and the steam db shows activity like another update is coming.

such a shame they didnt put their efforts into making a safari expansion for PlanCo instead of another weak standalone zoo game everybody knows games dont become popular just because of good graphics and a popular name

No, that's B&M's kiddie coaster. The one on NL has looping elements. Its clearly based off of the Giovanola invert, see below: https://rcdb.com/1169.htm Now why they chose such an obscure coaster that only has one model in the world, I don't know.

I did notice that some developers of Planet Coaster are not listed in the credits of Jurassic World Evolution, so not all of them seemed to have worked on Jurassic World Evolution directly.

I'm building a BIG hotel, but sometimes, the "building template" doesn't let you be precise, so you separate some objects from the building to put them where you want. The problem is that know I want to combine them, but I don't see how and I can't find any answer. This building system it's a real pain sometimes, an slows down the effectivity, for example, if I forgot to select some color to an object, I'm not able to select all the pieces to change the color unless they are part of the same building or aren't part of any building. It's that normal? And the grid sizes should give you the option to be smaller, because sometimes you can't put walls were you want unless you use the "Advanced move", but to do this, you have to split the object from the building, and this way the game doesn't fix the textures because it dosn't recognize the Wall next to him. It's incredible the level of creativity that gives the game to you, I spend hours building things, but the tools are a lot clunky. If the game it's going to be a creativity one (And it looks that way), we need more quality of life changes.

What? Your peeps can't afford to stay at the Kaleidscope Hotel? Perhaps they can afford a few nights at the PLANCO-TEL motel! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1421084395 Once you plop down the blueprint, dig a hole under the pool and fill it with water up to the deck level. NOTE: This is NOT a working hotel. You must add your own lobby and hotel room cubes. I used greyandgrumpy's Vending Machines. Get them here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1382546446

This is an option which I feel is heavily needed in Planco, Think like your making a Top Spin with water jets, when I made PELE It featured 3 rows of 37 water jets at varied heights. The most time consuming and tedious part of that hole operation was manually setting each water jet to activate and deactivate in the display sequencer , to get an idea of how many times I had to set the setting up it was 222 times. as only one set of fountains was allowed to operate at one time for the effect i needed. Ie LOW Fountain Deactivated when HIGH Fountain Activate and vise versa . Had there been an option to select a command for each display group this could have been done in around 30 seconds rather than 30 minutes. so 6 Display sequencers - Low Med and HIgh On and Off . Please please please allow us to syncronise one set command to control all in the selection . It would be so helpful I cant tell you lol
